Aviva Stadium named Best Conference Venue in Ireland - more

The Aviva Stadium has been awarded Best Conference Venue in Ireland in the annual MICE Report Awards 2012.  These prestigious awards are bestowed annually to recognise excellence and outstanding distinction in the meetings, incentive and conference industry (MICE).  The MICE Report is one of the UK’s leading publications specialising in this area.

The MICE Report Awards are voted on by a worldwide group of influential industry experts including key corporate decision makers, solution providers in the MICE industry, first-class and business-class travellers, planners of international conferences and events.

Speaking of the award to the Aviva Stadium Mr Charles Vandeleur, chief editor, The MICE Report, said:  “I am delighted to announce that the Aviva Stadium has been voted by our readers as the Best Conference Venue in Ireland for 2012.  Their award comes in a very tough category and recognises the fantastic location of the stadium, its capacity, state-of-the-art facilities and the high levels of customer service provided by the venue.”

Speaking on behalf of the Aviva Stadium Mr Martin Murphy, stadium director, paid tribute to the Aviva Stadium team which has won a number of awards for its exceptional service and catering since the opening of the stadium in 2010.  Last year the stadium won a major award as “Best Event Caterer” for its exceptional catering at the Europa League Final which was held in the stadium.

“Since the stadium opened we have welcomed over two million visitors to events both on and off the field.  This has included 400,000 conference delegates attending a wide range of different events.  Undoubtedly the “wow” factor that the stadium provides has been a major selling point but so also has been the exceptional service and catering delivered by Compass, the stadium’s caterers.  This latest award is further testament to the strength and depth of our team.”
